Have any of you ever received a compliment and an insult at the same time? That's exactly what happened to me at work yesterday. An older gentleman walked in to the store and I greeted him with a smile. As he walked by, he complimented me on my smile and I thanked him. He then went on to inform me that I should smile more often because I normally look really really grumpy. Ummmm? I just looked at him wishing I had never said thank you! Eff! In all fairness, there could be some truth in that...possibly....but still, I was annoyed!

Every once in a while, when I'm bored with my accessories, I like to sneak into Mum's room and snoop around in her collection. Some of the jewelry pieces she's collected over the years are so unique, and different and fun! She doesn't mind of course, until she realizes half of her collection is missing. Somehow I always manage to forget to return the things I borrow. It's not technically stealing if it belongs to your mom, and you live together. Right? :)

So here's another maxi! I found this dress at Suzy Shier about a month ago, and of course, it was love at first sight. Thanks to the light sheer fabric, it has been the most perfect dress for extremely hot summer days.

This owl pendant is a super great find from Mum's collection. :)

This is another outfit I wore while strolling along the streets of Frankenmuth. Tribal print and maxi dresses are both super huge trends this season and definitely a summer must have!  There's something about the maxi length that makes me feel so chic. The dress itself already has a lot going on so I kept it simple and added brown accessories.

Hello everyone! As I mentioned in the last post, I went on a little getaway in the US for a few days. A little place called Frankenmuth. :) I must say, this place is perfect for someone like me. Strolling around all day in cute little outfits, Riverboat tours, going in and out of little shops and eating delicious German food. Oh, and the many fudge shops along Main street! I must have said mmmmm atleast 50 times throughout the trip! Every time someone opened the door to these shops, as we walked up and down the street, the smell would escape and find it's way over to me! Mmmmm.....

This is one of the outfits I wore. It's an old dress from Forever 21 and definitely still one of my favourites! Every time I grab this dress from my closet I immediately think summer. Now I will think of Frankenmuth, with a big smile on my face! :)

Happy Friday everyone! I'm off to the United States for a 5 day getaway and I'm SUPER thrilled about it! :) Hopefully I will have some pictures to share with all of you when I get back. In the meantime, here are a few outfit pics.

While my niece Veronica was visiting last week, we decided to have a bit of fun and I gave her a little photo shoot. I had such a great time getting her all dolled up and styling a few outfits. It was also super fun being on the other side of the camera for a change! We improvised with a bit of my wardrobe and a bit of hers. Finding things that actually fit her was a bit of a challenge.

This sheer mint blouse hasn't moved from my closet in months! It hasn't been as versatile as I had hoped. I had planned on wearing it with white shorts and gold accessories at some point this summer, but as usual, I had a hard time finding shorts. Maybe I'm just too picky. Ha! Veronica had cream colored shorts that worked just as well. :)

The top she's wearing here is super fun! She took an old Forever 21 Beatles tank top and cut it up herself. I thought it was super creative of her. :)

This is another blouse that hasn't been as versatile as I had hoped. It did nothing for her figure so we tied it at her waist.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! :)

One of the hottest summer trends is the high-low skirt or waterfall skirt (also known as the mullet skirt, which to me, is the ugliest word to describe such a feminine and sexy style). The great thing about this trend is it can really elongate your figure when paired with the right shoes.

This leopard print high-low skirt is a super great find from Urban Planet. I chose to keep the rest of the outfit simple, pairing it with solid black and my gold leopard pendant from Forever 21. The black ankle strap shoes are a new addition to my wardrobe. A great find from Suzy Shier!

I was flipping through magazines the other day and I was inspired by all of the celebrities rocking the classic shorts + blazer combo. It's perfect for the summer season and a great outfit idea for my night out with Mum. Last Thursday we had a girls night out and attended Mamma Mia the musical. We had such a great time. I've always loved the movie and seeing it on stage was even better! The music was fantastic!

This is the outfit I wore to the show. I started off with a classic black and white look and added the teal blazer for a summer flair. I wanted to keep the outfit simple, so I paired it with silver accessories and black heels.
