It's mid November and although there isn't any snow yet here in Northern Ontario, it's beginning to look and feel like Christmas. The temperature has dropped, people have begun decorating their houses with lights, the mall and department stores are decorated as well and the glitzy holiday party collections are festively displayed in store. It's the perfect time to start thinking about holiday party outfits.
Today's post features a crimson beaded bubble blouse, courtesy of Ricki's, which I've styled two ways to show how easy it can be to transition from work to dinner party. The beaded collar on this top adds just the right amount of holiday glitz for day/work. I've kept the outfit simple by pairing the bright crimson top with neutrals and minimal jewellery. I've also kept my makeup simple with a subtle cat eye and a nude lip. The trick for pulling off a festive work appropriate look is to keep the glitz and glamour to a minimum.

To transition from work to party, I've replaced the pin stripe trousers with a metallic weave skirt and black tights. I switched out the booties for black pointy toe pumps and the satchel for a sparkly clutch. To add a bit more glamour to my makeup, I added a red lip which always looks classic paired with a cat eye. In just a few easy steps I'm ready for a festive night out. The trick to transitioning from work to party is adding a bit more glitz by changing your accessories and adding a bit of glam to your makeup.
When choosing this top, I fell in love with the beaded collar which is subtle enough for day and can be dressed up for a party. I was so thrilled to discover that it has an open back lined with more dazzling beading. It really makes a fun and unexpected statement. I usually prefer to wear my blouses tucked in when paired with skirts so I was a little concerned about the beading but this top has proven to be quite versatile. It looks just as good tucked in.
Thank you Ricki's for partnering on this post.

Hello dear readers. I was given the opportunity to collaborate with Ricki's this month as part of their "What's Your Pantsonality?" campaign. Ricki's has made shopping for pants so much fun! Every pant shape has it's own "personality" and a cute little nickname to match. I was asked to style the slim style pant, a.k.a. Fancy Pants. I love it! I'm more of a skinny jeans girl but for occasions when denim just won't do, this slim pant is dressy and fits just like skinny jeans. They are very comfortable and very flattering if you've got slightly curvy hips like me.
If you've been to Ricki's lately you might have noticed their "colour of the moment" is wine and I couldn't be any more thrilled. Such a beautiful colour for fall. I chose to pair this slim black pant with a wine coloured top, grey mossy vest and silver accessories.
This mossy vest was a huge hit for me last fall. I'm so thrilled they brought it back again this season and was pleasantly surprised to see that it's now available in black as well. The grey has been such a huge fall wardrobe staple for me, I definitely plan on purchasing the black one. So, for those who missed out on it last year, here's your chance! You won't regret it!
Layered necklaces and wrap bracelets are huge jewelry trends at the moment. Both of these pieces offer just the right amount of sparkle for daytime.
This wine coloured faux wrap top is perfection. It's very soft, comfortable and thanks to all the ruching, very flattering. Looking forward to pairing this top with blazers and fall jackets.

The long knit vest is a big trend at the moment. It's a great transitional piece for fall. When it comes to choosing knits, I usually stay away from anything heavy to avoid adding bulk which is why I was so thrilled when I spotted this fuzzy mossy vest from Ricki's. It is absolute perfection. It's thin and flattering yet still warm and cozy. My only complaint is the lack of colour options.
I definitely would have purchased more than one colour!
I really love mixing textures so I paired the vest with this gold sequin striped top from J. Crew. I love how the gold sequins add a bit of interest to an otherwise plain striped top. It was on my wishlist about a month ago and I was so thrilled when Brandon surprised me with it during my last visit in Michigan. :)
I purchased these faux suede boots about a year ago but they never made it onto the blog until now because unfortunately, the fall season doesn't last very long over here in Ontario. I've been trying to wear them as much as I can before the snow comes!

One of my purchases since becoming an Avon Representative is this trench coat from mark.avon. I already have a few trench coats but not in black so I'm very thrilled about this new addition to my wardrobe. The unique design and quilted faux leather details instantly caught my attention. I was a little hesitant at first due to the mark.avon brand being suited more for juniors, but the size chart recommended going up a size, which I did, and the fit is perfect!
Unfortunately, the snow came much sooner than expected here in Northern Ontario, so I didn't get as much wear out of it as I hoped. I'm really looking forward to wearing it again come springtime.
This grid pattern sweater, which I picked up at Winners, is also a new addition to my wardrobe. Black and white is one of my favourite combinations and it's the perfect backdrop for adding a pop of colour.

Hello dear readers. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I celebrated my 29th birthday this month and wanted to share with all of you my birthday outfit and some of my fabulous birthday gifts, along with some really exciting changes in my life.
First of all, you might have noticed in my previous post that I've changed my hairstyle, which was a birthday present to myself! I needed a change and felt that the timing couldn't be any more appropriate. New year, new do, new me.
Secondly, I'm really excited to announce to all of my Canadian readers that I recently became an Avon Representative and will be adding an Avon feature to my blog. Shop Avon with Chantal on Facebook or register online at Avon.ca, with me as your representative, and receive access to exclusive online deals! More info on this coming soon.
On to the outfit. This sweater is a new addition to my fall/winter wardrobe and it's definitely a new favourite. So far, it has proven to be very versatile. I've paired it with skirts, skinny jeans, dressed it up and dressed it down. I'm really looking forward to wearing this through the holidays. It will take me right into the spring as well. Really thrilled about this purchase. I usually stay clear of tops with beading or jewels due to the chances of it falling apart, but this sweater is really well made and so beautiful, I just couldn't pass it up. The skirt is also a new addition and will look great with black opaque tights during the colder months.
This stunning rose gold bow ring is a very generous birthday present from my Mum. I've been obsessed with it since I first saw it at the jewellery store, about six months ago.
This nude handbag is a gift from the boyfriend (which he gifted in black as well). I'm so spoiled. This quilted {Chanel inspired} handbag from Express is truly perfection. I'm really impressed with the quality. There's something so pretty and feminine about a small quilted handbag.

Hello dear readers! November is almost at an end which means the holidays are just around the corner! Soon there will be parties and holiday events to attend and, being the fashionista that I am, new outfits are required! So, when Ricki's contacted me about doing a collaboration and asked me to put together an outfit from their new collection, I was beyond thrilled!
While browsing the store I came upon this gorgeous statement necklace and instantly fell in love. Two things came to mind : frosted and winter wonderland. I was inspired! Proof that pastels are stunning in the winter as well. This necklace would also look great paired with a cozy fitted sweater.
I also fell in love with this metallic weave skirt. The hint of metallic shimmer makes it ideal for the holidays and is super versatile! It can also be worn with a black or red blouse during the holidays, or a white sweater and black opaque tights. Because of the length, this skirt is office appropriate and perfect for family gatherings as well. Really thrilled about this piece and cannot wait to mix and match with my winter wardrobe.
The lace inserts add a touch of elegance to this white blouse. So feminine and delicate.
