It's officially summer and what better way to start the season than partnering up with one of my favourite brands! The very nice people over at Ricki's recently sent me this flirty flutter sleeve top which I'm sure will quickly become a wardrobe favourite. Tees are an essential part of my wardrobe all year round. I love how versatile they are. As part of their Tops Under $30 campaign, I was given the opportunity to style this flutter sleeve top two ways; dressed up and dressed down.
Every woman should own a few basic tees in neutrals like white, black, and grey. As I've mentioned in previous posts, worn casual with denim and sneakers or dressed up with a blazer and statement necklace, there is nothing more versatile than a plain white tee. But, every once in a while, especially in the summer, a girl needs some colour in her life!
Peach is definitely one of my favourite summer colours. Looks great paired with neutrals like black, white, brown and looks even better with a tan! Obviously I need to work on that part. . .
This peach top goes beyond basic with it's flirty and feminine flutter sleeves. I love little details like that! I usually pair peach with gold or rose gold jewelry but it looks good with silver as well.

Soft peach is one of my favourite colours for spring and summer. There's something so pretty and feminine about it. When I saw this jewelled lace top at Suzy Shier I was thrilled and knew I had to take it home with me. I was even more thrilled when I saw the $14.95 sale sticker! Personally I don't think I have the right body for boxy shirts and crop tops but this top was just too pretty to pass up. As a layering piece, I knew I could make it work.
I really wanted to keep this outfit soft but sometimes neutrals can be a little boring, especially during the summer months, so I painted my nails bright purple for a fun pop of colour!

White and summer go together like popcorn and butter, milk and cookies, or coffee and cream, mmmm . . . I think I might be a little hungry. Anyway, as I was saying, white is definitely a summer staple and this a-line skirt from Ricki's is the perfect summer skirt (currently on sale). It can easily be dressed up or down, the fabric is light and breezy, and the floral organza overlay adds just the right dose of sweet and feminine. I was so thrilled when the very nice people over at Ricki's sent this over to me. I've worn this skirt many times over the summer including an outdoor birthday party and a casual afternoon stroll along the waterfront.

I've attended two weddings this summer and a third one coming at the end of August. I love weddings! Not only do I get to witness such an important moment in someone's life and celebrate with family and loved ones; I have an excuse to shop for dresses, shop for shoes, shop for accessories, and look fancy for a day. My favourite kind of event!
I had a specific look in mind which, at times, can make shopping a little difficult. It took two months of consistent shopping online and in stores to find this beautiful ASOS dress but, once I had my heart set, I had to have it. It wasn't easy though. When the order came, the dress was a little too snug and the cutouts were digging into my "baby fat" (as my sister would call it). Mum said it wasn't flattering on me and at first I was very disappointed but . . . with a week left before the wedding, I decided not to listen to her, ordered the dress in two larger sizes and everything worked out!
I really wanted all of the focus to be on the dress so I kept my manicure simple: nude nails with a subtle gold glitter top coat. To bring out the gold bar at the waist, I wore matching gold sandals and added a touch of sparkle with the clutch.

Hello dear readers! Happy Canada Day! I hope everyone is enjoying their day! If you follow me on Facebook, you already know my reason for the lack of posts. Unfortunately my camera stopped working. Summer is here and I've completely skipped spring but I'm finally back and excited to be blogging again!
Over the past few months I've really made an effort to be healthier and much more active. So, when Ricki's contacted me about the new Ricki's Active collection I was thrilled! It couldn't have come at a better time! Most of my wardrobe consists of Ricki's clothing and now I can add activewear to the mix.
Both pieces are comfortable, trendy and the fabric feels great on my skin. The pieces feature great performance details such as moisture wicking fabric and four way stretch. I'm wearing size small in both pieces. I also really love all of the little media pockets. The top has a zip pocket on the back and I was so thrilled when I saw the little frill above the zipper! I love little details like that.
When it comes to activewear, occasionally I run into the annoying issue of the pants sliding down after being active and then having to constantly pull them up. I don't have that problem with these pants. They stay put! I'm really impressed with the active collection and looking forward to getting a few more pieces.

This dress from the Temperance by Bootlegger 2013 Holiday Collection is by far one of my favourite dresses from my wardrobe. Anyone who knows me well knows that I get easily excited about fashion, but I was beyond thrilled when I first saw this dress. It was definitely love at first sight! If only it was appropriate to wear ostrich feathers at every occasion!
I wanted the feathers to be the main focus so I kept the rest of the outfit fairly simple. To bring out the subtle sparkles in the polka dot top, I added a sparkly belt and clutch, and sparkly shoes.
This blazer from Forever 21 has been a great wardrobe staple. The faux leather on the bottom half of the sleeve really helps in elevating a relatively plain black blazer.
