Merry Christmas!

Well, it's been two weeks since my last post, which means I better have a lot to write about... right? Where to begin? First of all, Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays as much as I am. There's nothing I love more than good quality time spent with family and friends. I especially love it when my nieces and nephews decide they want to play with my hair. All it takes is for one of them to start and then it seems they all want to join in. I could sit there for hours letting them brush my hair, even if they end up pulling out a few strands.

As I've mentioned before, I love any excuse to get all dressed up, and this month has given me plenty of excuses. The first event was the Kris Kringle dinner with my co-workers which I've already written about (here). The following weekend I attended the Market Mall Pharmacy staff Christmas party with mum as my date. We both had a marvellous time. The food was delicious, and there's something about watching your co-workers drink way too much that is just so amusing. What's not so amusing is having one of those drunk co-workers attempt to dance with a drink in each hand and spill an entire drink down the front of your dress.

Since Christmas was just around the corner, I decided to wear a dress that I already own but never got a chance to wear. As you all know I've been trying to add colour to my wardrobe, and this dress definitely does just that. Draped dresses and ruffles are very big this season and I absolutely love these trends. The shoes are a new addition. I figured since I didn't buy a new dress for the event, I could splurge on a new pair of shoes. OK, I'm sure I already own a perfectly good pair of shoes for this outfit, but where's the fun in that? It could have been worse. I could have purchased a new dress, a new clutch, and new jewellery! So I did good right?

Christmas Eve was spent at my younger brother's house and although my family does dress up nice for the holidays, I was the only one wearing a dress. Actually, my 3 year old niece wore a dress as well so I wasn't entirely alone.

My older brother thought it would be funny to wear an ugly Christmas sweater (which he decorated himself).

I truly do look forward to these family get togethers. Especially when I know there's going to be good food involved. Everyone has their own Christmas traditions and I love knowing how other people spend their holidays. In my family, we get all dressed up, go to church, eat, drink and wait up til midnight to open our gifts.

Christmas Day was spent here at the house. We enjoyed a very good turkey and ham dinner, listened to Christmas music, sat around the dining room table talking, playing cards and having a bunch of laughs. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the holidays.

How do you spend your Christmas?

  1. You did an amazing job shooting the pic with the orange dress and black coat. Perfect picture. Good lighting and perfect pose. This is my favorite pic so far.
