It's mid November and although there isn't any snow yet here in Northern Ontario, it's beginning to look and feel like Christmas. The temperature has dropped, people have begun decorating their houses with lights, the mall and department stores are decorated as well and the glitzy holiday party collections are festively displayed in store. It's the perfect time to start thinking about holiday party outfits.
Today's post features a crimson beaded bubble blouse, courtesy of Ricki's, which I've styled two ways to show how easy it can be to transition from work to dinner party. The beaded collar on this top adds just the right amount of holiday glitz for day/work. I've kept the outfit simple by pairing the bright crimson top with neutrals and minimal jewellery. I've also kept my makeup simple with a subtle cat eye and a nude lip. The trick for pulling off a festive work appropriate look is to keep the glitz and glamour to a minimum.
To transition from work to party, I've replaced the pin stripe trousers with a metallic weave skirt and black tights. I switched out the booties for black pointy toe pumps and the satchel for a sparkly clutch. To add a bit more glamour to my makeup, I added a red lip which always looks classic paired with a cat eye. In just a few easy steps I'm ready for a festive night out. The trick to transitioning from work to party is adding a bit more glitz by changing your accessories and adding a bit of glam to your makeup.
When choosing this top, I fell in love with the beaded collar which is subtle enough for day and can be dressed up for a party. I was so thrilled to discover that it has an open back lined with more dazzling beading. It really makes a fun and unexpected statement. I usually prefer to wear my blouses tucked in when paired with skirts so I was a little concerned about the beading but this top has proven to be quite versatile. It looks just as good tucked in.
Thank you Ricki's for partnering on this post.

Hello dear readers. I was given the opportunity to collaborate with Ricki's this month as part of their "What's Your Pantsonality?" campaign. Ricki's has made shopping for pants so much fun! Every pant shape has it's own "personality" and a cute little nickname to match. I was asked to style the slim style pant, a.k.a. Fancy Pants. I love it! I'm more of a skinny jeans girl but for occasions when denim just won't do, this slim pant is dressy and fits just like skinny jeans. They are very comfortable and very flattering if you've got slightly curvy hips like me.
If you've been to Ricki's lately you might have noticed their "colour of the moment" is wine and I couldn't be any more thrilled. Such a beautiful colour for fall. I chose to pair this slim black pant with a wine coloured top, grey mossy vest and silver accessories.
This mossy vest was a huge hit for me last fall. I'm so thrilled they brought it back again this season and was pleasantly surprised to see that it's now available in black as well. The grey has been such a huge fall wardrobe staple for me, I definitely plan on purchasing the black one. So, for those who missed out on it last year, here's your chance! You won't regret it!
Layered necklaces and wrap bracelets are huge jewelry trends at the moment. Both of these pieces offer just the right amount of sparkle for daytime.
This wine coloured faux wrap top is perfection. It's very soft, comfortable and thanks to all the ruching, very flattering. Looking forward to pairing this top with blazers and fall jackets.

It's officially summer and what better way to start the season than partnering up with one of my favourite brands! The very nice people over at Ricki's recently sent me this flirty flutter sleeve top which I'm sure will quickly become a wardrobe favourite. Tees are an essential part of my wardrobe all year round. I love how versatile they are. As part of their Tops Under $30 campaign, I was given the opportunity to style this flutter sleeve top two ways; dressed up and dressed down.
Every woman should own a few basic tees in neutrals like white, black, and grey. As I've mentioned in previous posts, worn casual with denim and sneakers or dressed up with a blazer and statement necklace, there is nothing more versatile than a plain white tee. But, every once in a while, especially in the summer, a girl needs some colour in her life!
Peach is definitely one of my favourite summer colours. Looks great paired with neutrals like black, white, brown and looks even better with a tan! Obviously I need to work on that part. . .
This peach top goes beyond basic with it's flirty and feminine flutter sleeves. I love little details like that! I usually pair peach with gold or rose gold jewelry but it looks good with silver as well.

Hello dear readers! Happy Friday! Last weekend, Brandon and I went to Niagara Falls for a mini getaway and had such a wonderful time. So much beauty, especially at this time of year. The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and there was a warm gentle breeze. Perfect day for sightseeing. This is the outfit I wore to stroll the streets of Niagara and admire the beauty of the Horseshoe Falls.
This dress is a recent purchase from H&M and it is THE MOST flattering dress! It's very feminine, flowy and flirty. I try to stay away from printed dresses because trends come and go but you can never go wrong with a black and white print.
These shoes are a recent addition to my shoe collection and it was love at first sight. Ghillies are a big trend for this year's spring and summer seasons and I couldn't be any more thrilled. Loving the blocked heel which makes walking in heels much more comfortable.

Hello dear readers. I'm starting off the month of June with a bright pop of colour! The "red + white + black" combination is always a classic look and definitely a favourite of mine. At times, bright colours can be a bit of a challenge but pairing them with black and white keeps things simple and classic. You can never go wrong with this mix.
A bold red mani is always a great choice for any season but sometimes all you need is a little bit of colour on the tips. This red blazer already makes a bold statement so I kept my mani simple with just a touch of red.

Jeans paired with a tee and a blazer is basically my uniform during the spring season. It's comfortable and effortless. Perfect for an afternoon spent at the mall which is what Mum and I did over the long weekend. We tried to take advantage of the Victoria Day sales but unfortunately we both came out empty handed. Ever have those shopping days when nothing seems to fit right?
I was so thrilled when I spotted this J. Crew factory dotted tee. Rose gold has been my favourite of the metallics for a while now so I instantly fell in love with this rose gold and silver dotted tee. It can easily be dressed up or down and I'm really looking forward to pairing it with other items in my wardrobe.
This white and rose gold watch from Vivah was a Christmas gift from Mum and it has been my favourite watch ever since!
