So the other day I was looking through old photos and I could not help myself from laughing. It's always super fun looking at what you thought was stylish. You know the good old days, before you even knew what style meant. Ha! But it made me realize just how much I've grown. My style has definitely changed over the years and I feel that I'm finally starting to find my own personal style. A style that really expresses who I am as an individual. I must admit that I do like to follow trends but by no means am I a slave to fashion, because let's face it, not every trend looks good on everyone. Fashion should be fun though, which is why I'm always trying something new and experimenting. Trends open my eyes to new things, and definitely help stretch my fashion limits but ultimately I always try to remain true to who I am.

Hello my dear readers! I hope everyone had a good weekend. We've been getting a bit of rain lately and for once I'm not complaining. Actually, I am extremely thankful!! Everything has been much too dry, causing many forest fires in my area and all over Ontario, so this rain is desperately needed. Thank you rain! Normally when it rains, mum and I get cozy and stay inside watching movies all day, but I wasn't gonna let a bit of rain get me down today. So I grabbed an umbrella, put my rain boots on and headed outside!

One of the major trends this summer is mixed prints and I've been toying with the idea in my head for months now. I finally decided to give it a try. Since this is something new for me, I decided to ease into it by adding just a bit of a mix. Stripes and dots seem to be a very popular pairing, and in an attempt to make this old striped dress a little more fun I paired it with polka dot rain boots. Hope you like it. Oh and just so you know, I love reading your comments, so comment away! :)

Just a quick hello for today. I hope everyone is having a super good Friday. I wanted to share with all of you my summer skin care and beauty routine. Although I do like to experiment with new products quite often, these are my absolute favourite. I cannot live without any of these. During the summer, my beauty routine is quite basic. I rarely wear foundation, just a good moisturizer with SPF of course, a bit of under eye concealer, bronzer, a bit of blush, mascara and lip gloss. I also want to talk about the Neutrogena cleansing towelettes. These are amazing!! They easily remove all of my makeup and leave my skin very moisturized! I love love love these! Now, did you know that there are over 50 different uses for Vaseline? It truly has improved my skin. I apply it on my feet and elbows when they are dry, around my eyes at night to prevent wrinkles and occasionally on my face before bed if my skin is feeling a little dry. I apply it on my lips every night and wake up with super soft lips! It also works like magic when used to remove stubborn eye makeup! Vaseline is the best beauty tip I've ever received.

Cetaphil Cleanser, Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser, Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes, Distilled Witch Hazel, Eucerin Moisturizing Body Lotion, Olay Definity Restorative Sleep Cream, Rimmel Bronzer, Maybelline Mascara, Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Concealer, Rimmer Vinyl Max Lip Gloss, NYC Lipstick, Covergirl Cheekers Blush, Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, Vaseline.

Wow! The weather has been so beautiful lately! Yesterday, Mum and I had dinner outside on the deck, trying to soak up as much sun as we can, with sunscreen on of course! :) I also went to my brother's for a little visit and this is the outfit I wore. My little niece was there so, as usual, when I got there she loved my dress and took me to her bedroom to pick out a dress for her to wear. Summer is the perfect season for us to embrace the floral print and I plan on taking full advantage it! As you can see, I've already started. I absolutely love this trend but this year I'm totally crushing on large florals rather than small ditsy florals. They are a lot more strong and bold and a lot less cutesy.

This Friday I've been invited to a Fashion and Friends sale over at Ricki's and I've got my pretty little eyes set on these two gorgeous floral skirts!

Hello everyone! I've discovered a new OPI collection that will be coming this summer and I am super super thrilled. As some of you may already know, the people that are closest to me often call me Minnie. It has become my nickname over the years and even some of my nieces and nephews call me Auntie Minnie. It has no relation to Minnie Mouse in any way, and I'm not obsessed with Minnie Mouse memorabilia by any means, but I do own a few items, like this coffee mug that I purchased on a trip to Disney World last summer. :)

So, when I saw the ad for the new Vintage Minnie Mouse OPI Collection, I FREAKED! It was magazine day, and I had just gotten this month's edition of Flare. Half way through, I literally yelled OMG and Mum came rushing over wondering what was going on. When I showed her the collection, she gave me that famous look of hers. You know, the "you're crazy" kinda look that I'm always talking about. The ad itself is adorable. It asks, in big bold letters,  WHO WANTS A "MINNIE"-CURE? I sure do! :) And I'm definitely stealing that line. From here on out, any manicure that is given by me, will be called a minnie-cure. Ha!

If you're the type of person who loves pink and red nail polish, this collection is perfect for you. I cannot wait to add these to my "already too big" nail polish collection.

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend. To all of my Canadian readers, I hope you fully took advantage of the three day weekend thanks to Victoria Day! The weather was absolutely gorgeous! I had to work most of the weekend but still had plenty of daylight left afterwards to enjoy the sun. I attended two barbecues and spent some good quality time with family. I also spent the whole weekend daydreaming about shoes. For some reason, it's all I seem to be thinking about lately. I've gone crazy over shoes!! I'm hoping to add some bright coloured shoes to my wardrobe this summer, as well as a few pointy toe pumps. Also, I'm super obsessed with cap toe! Here are some of my shoe crushes at the moment.
Spring Shoes BIALY, Spring Shoes MERGEL, Spring Shoes PRINKLETON, Spring Shoes HESSELL.
Spring Shoes DADAMO, Asos PLUTO, Aldo MEASE, Aldo FLICKER.
Spring Shoes ESPARAZA, Zara BALLERINA CAP-TOE, Asos LULA, Aldo HILSER.
Aldo BRENDLE, Spring Shoes FOLINO, Aldo PECOR, Spring Shoes HEMMERT.

Last Sunday, Mum and I, along with my sister, my brother in law, my niece and three of my nephews, attended a Cirque Du Soleil show called Quidam. The show was amazing! If you've never gone to a Cirque Du Soleil, I totally recommend that you do! I've been lucky enough to see two shows and I cannot wait for the next one! This is the outfit I wore that night. The oldest of my nephews commented on my skirt saying that part of it was "missing". There are times when my family thinks my sense of style is a little "different". I say different because that's the word they use but what they really want to say is crazy, or weird. Ha! My niece on the other hand kept telling me how much she loved my skirt. I love her! The gold necklace I'm wearing is actually the handle of a handbag. I got this super great creative idea from Daniela over at Nany's Klozet. Thank you Daniela! :)

Lately, in an attempt to expand my mind and spirituality, I've been reading a couple of gratitude and appreciation themed books. The other day, while sitting on my bed and staring at my closet, I realized that I have so much clothes I've actually lost track of what I own. This is what happens when you're a shopaholic. So, I went through my closet and found appreciation for a whole bunch of stuff that I had completely forgotten about. Since then, I've been having fun mixing the old with the new and I've also saved some money! :)

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that stripes are everywhere this season. It's a huge trend this summer and although I've always been a huge fan of stripes, recently, while flipping through the J.Crew magazine for the month of May, I fell in love with stripes in a whole new way.

MIXING STRIPES!

I found the above photo over at jcrew.com, so if you're not a J. Crew magazine subscriber, just head on over to the website and check out the Summer Style How-To for some great tips and inspiration. It's a super fun and fresh take on a classic trend. Here's my own J.Crew inspired striped outfit! Hope you like it!
