Is everyone ready for Christmas? After weeks of shopping, decorating, wrapping and baking, I'm just about ready for the festivities to begin! It's been a very lazy Sunday here for me and Mum. A perfect day to get our holiday manicures done. :) I've spent the past month gathering some of my favorite holiday manis from the web. Such great inspiration out there for nail polish fanatics, such as me! :) Here are some easy "do-it-yourself" manicures that are perfect for this time of year.

A faux-fur vest is definitely a fall wardrobe staple. It's super versatile, super easy to dress up or down and perfect for adding a luxe look to any outfit. I often pair them with sheer blouses and skinny jeans or leather pants. I also love the look of fur worn over stripes. During the fall/winter season, I try to avoid wearing a coat as long as possible and a fur vest worn over a sweater is a great alternative. Here's a round-up of my favorites.

Black Faux-Fur Vest ~ Zara. Brown Faux-Fur Vest ~ Aritzia.
Grey Faux-Fur Vest ~ Zara.
Grey/Multi Faux-Fur Vest ~ Guess (available at Bootlegger).

Black Faux-Fur Vest ~ American Eagle.

Houndstooth is a classic print that has been around for decades. It never seems to go out of style. My favorite is the classic black and white, but retailers are offering this print in a variety of colors and sizes as well. From coats and dresses to accessories and shoes, there's something out there for everyone. Here's a round-up of Houndstooth items that I've spotted in the last couple of months.

Hello dear readers! I woke up this morning feeling disappointed as I looked out my window and up at the sky. Another gloomy overcast day awaited me and all I wanted to do was go back to bed. . .until I looked at the ground and noticed that the snow had practically disappeared overnight, thanks to all of the rain and mild weather we've had these last couple of days. Although I desperately long to see the sun, not having to shovel the driveway or remove the snow off of my car is definitely something to be happy about!

On to some fashion talk. A true fashionista needs variety in her wardrobe, but I must admit, I'm the type of girl that prefers to wear dresses and skirts more often than not. It makes me feel feminine and pretty.

I purchased this houndstooth skirt from Suzy Shier a few months ago and I've had lots of fun mixing it into my wardrobe.

I'm not particularly fond of Mondays and I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel just as I do, so I thought I would start off the week by sharing a few of my wants and wishes for this month. There's nothing better than looking at a few pretty things first thing Monday morning to help brighten my mood. :) This sequin dress from Bootlegger is absolutely breathtaking!! Unfortunately I won't be attending any events or parties this holiday season, but if I was, I would definitely be wearing this dress.

Sequin Dress ~ Bootlegger.  Peplum Dress ~ Ricki's.

As promised, I have a few birthday pictures to share with everyone. I had planned on purchasing a new dress for my special day but as I was looking through my closet a few weeks ago, I found this (never worn, tags still attached) dress and decided it was time to give it a night out! The dress is loosely fitted, which is perfect for a family get together and the print is really different and fun. When I look at it, I always think of pearls. :)

My family and friends really made my day extra special this year! Tania, my sister in law, surprised me with this amazing cake which she baked and decorated herself! I was super thrilled to see it covered with adorable shoes and cute bows and party dresses! I was even more thrilled to see Closet Full Of Thrills inscribed on it! Thanks Tania for making such a special cake!

On to the birthday goodies!! I was incredibly spoiled this year! I'm currently obsessed with gold so these are a perfect addition to my closet! I'm completely smitten with this black studded bag and the necklace is unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm really looking forward to incorporating these into my outfits!

Studs and spikes are a huge trend at the moment and I've quickly become obsessed! It's a bit hard to see in this photo, but these bedazzled shoes actually have spikes on them! I cannot wait to wear these out on the town! :) I also got a much needed black envelope clutch and this dark grey hand bag which is unlike anything I have. Isn't the lace purse the cutest bank you've ever seen?

I want to thank everyone for making my birthday so special. I'm extremely lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love me, not only on my birthday but every day!
*Kiss Kiss*

I also want to give a quick shout out to all of my American readers! :)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Friday everyone! It's my birthday tomorrow so naturally I'm super excited and anxious for the weekend! This year, I thought it would be fun to have a "mini" themed birthday party. Everything from mini hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, to mini cocktails and mini party favors. This is a family event which means my little nieces and nephews will be attending, so I'm hoping they find my "mini" theme as fun as I do.

I'm definitely glad all of the planning and shopping is finally done. It's been a really hectic few days! My mind has been so focused on this party that the other day, I actually turned in the wrong direction onto a one way street and drove right into on coming traffic. . . while on my way to renew my driver's license. Ok, not my finest moment. Thankfully Mum and I made it out alive and then we had ourselves a really good laugh. The only reason I share this story with you now is because none of you can actually see me blush from embarrassment.

I really love tweed paired with leather and lucky for me it's a huge trend at the moment.

I only had time to photograph one outfit this week. There are two new additions to my closet that I want to share with all of you. This gorgeous tweed cutaway jacket . . .

. . . and this oh-so-pretty necklace.

Tweed Cutaway Jacket ~ Forever 21. White Blouse ~ H&M.
Black Leather Pants ~ Forever 21. Shoes ~ Suzy Shier.
Necklace ~ Forever 21.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Check back next week for all of the birthday party pics!

Most people have their own signature style, certain "go-to" pieces they always tend to reach for when they want to look put together.  For me, it's a pair of skinny jeans and a blazer. When I first saw this Tuxedo Jacket at Forever 21, I immediately fell in love and just HAD to own it. My closet is packed full of blazers and jackets as it is, but there's always room for more. Right? I've already taken up the closet in the spare bedroom (which is the room right next to mine), but thankfully there's a second spare bedroom with a closet that's just waiting to be filled! Ha! There's no stopping me!

Jewel tones are a big trend this fall/winter season. Rich shades of amethyst, sapphire, ruby and yellow topaz. I must say, I'm super thrilled about this emerald green. It's such a beautiful color! I'm looking forward to wearing more of these jewel tones throughout the season.

Emerald Top (old) ~ Forever 21. Snakeskin Printed Jeans ~ H&M.
Shoes ~ Call It Spring (available here, on sale).

On and ending note, if you've recently checked out Closet Full OF Thrills on Facebook, you might have noticed that I've been FEATURED! Yes, my very first feature! It was so kind of Bootlegger to post one of my looks on their Facebook page. I am extremely grateful and super excited about this! :)

Ok, so I realize it's been two weeks since my last post (oops) and I truly apologize for the lack of outfit pics. Everyone is probably wondering where I disappeared to and I wish I had a bunch of really great excuses, but the truth is I've been sulking and pouting and wallowing in loneliness. Being abandoned by Mum and having to be away from Brandon is definitely not a good mix! Ok, maybe I'm a bit of a suck and a tad bit of a drama queen. Ha! So I've spent the past two weeks eating way too much junk food while watching the entire first season of Hart Of Dixie (which is the greatest show ever) and shopping online in the hopes of bringing a smile to my face. Since my photographer (Mum) wasn't around, I even attempted to take my own pictures which ended up being a disaster and did nothing to improve my mood. Thankfully Mum is back, woohoo, and everything will be back to normal.
One thing that managed to (temporarily) brighten my mood last week is the new OPI SKYFALL collection. These colors are perfect for the fall/winter season and I'm really looking forward to owning a few of them! Are you seductive or dangerous. . .or both?

I'm super thrilled about this 18K gold top coat! How fun is that?? REAL 18K gold!! :)

As I was scrolling through the OPI website I also came across this super fun "Bond Manicure" how-to. A new way to wear nail polish! The Bond Girl way! I'm definitely going to give this one a try. :)

Monday is here. . . Ugh! WHY?? I was having such a relaxing time, filled with laughter, and hugs, and good food and...really good wine! :) Why did it have to end?? To make matters worse, Mum decided to stay and visit with my sister for the rest of the week while I'm over here, alone, missing out on all the fun. I'm super jealous! Life just ain't fair!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we spent quite a bit of time outdoors. I knew this was going to be a very chill weekend (which is exactly what I needed after my recent trip with Mum) so I made sure to pack comfortable outfits. This is probably as casual and comfy as it gets for me. Ha! :)

We also took the opportunity to take some nice family photos. :)

This poncho is a recent purchase from Artizan. It is extremely comfortable. . . yet stylish. Perfect for the fall season and perfect for someone like me!

Hello everyone! Just a quick post before bedtime. I have an exciting announcement to make! Today is Closet Full Of Thrills' first anniversary!! When I first started this blog, I really didn't know what to expect. I definitely didn't expect it to be this much work! Ha! I also didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do. :) Blogging has led me to so many great blogs, and such wonderful people. There's so much inspiration out there and I'm so happy to be a part of it all! I want to take a minute to thank everyone for their kind comments, for the sweet words of encouragement and for all the (much appreciated) support! Looking forward to sharing more outfits and more adventures with Mum. :)

Mum and I are driving up north in the morning to visit with my sister for the weekend. Super excited for some good quality family time!  I hope everyone has a super great weekend!

The countdown to my birthday has officially begun! In exactly one month I will be wearing a party dress, celebrating with family and friends, hopefully eating all of my favorite foods and birthday cake! :) Oh and watching the final Twilight movie. I feel like I've been waiting forever for the grand finale. I'm super excited! I'm also excited to start looking for the perfect birthday outfit.

During my time in Oakville last week, I was able to take advantage of the beautiful scenery in my sister's backyard and took a few outfit pictures. This is the outfit I wore for (Canadian) Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's. My niece Veronica and I wondered off outside while everyone was busy cooking in the kitchen. I disappear often, especially during the preparation of big family meals and during kitchen clean up time as well. Ha! :) What can I say? I'm a princess. One day, when I'm a wife and a mother, I will probably wish I had helped out all of those years, because by then I'm sure it will be their turn to "disappear" or "wonder off".

This tweed skirt has quickly become a wardrobe favorite. It has been super versatile and super easy to remix. Looking forward to more mixing and matching. :)

I woke up this morning wishing it wasn't Monday. Monday means back at home, back to work, and away from Brandon. Oh and away from all those wonderful shopping malls! I went to five different malls during my trip and went way over my budget! I must say my fall/winter wardrobe is looking pretty good though. Ha! :)

The floral trend is back for another season and I'm super thrilled. Unlike the flirty and feminine prints that were around during the summer, this season's floral prints are darker and edgier. The first time my dear friend Angel saw me with these pants on she said "Oh I've seen those in magazines but I never thought I'd ever see someone actually wear them". She's been calling me "flower ass" ever since. Ha!

Hello dear readers! I thought I would share a few of the items that left the mall with me yesterday. Normally when I travel, I try to shop in stores that aren't available in my city, but there was a "buy one, get one 50% off" sale at Suzy Shier that I just couldn't pass up!
My recent tweed purchase, which I wore in the previous post, turned out to be such a great buy, so I grabbed another! I'm really loving this dark green color that seems to be everywhere this season.

Houndstooth is another trend that has been popping up everywhere. This pattern has been a classic trend over and over again, but to be honest, it never really appealed to me until now. I'm looking forward to mixing it into my wardrobe.
I also made sure to stop in at the Bulk Barn to stock up on some of my favorite candy. I sure did spend 16$ on candy! Please don't judge me. Ha!
My time in Oakville has come to an end. I'm extremely sad to be leaving but my trip doesn't stop here. I'm bringing Mum over to my aunt's in London Ontario for the rest of the week, while I visit with Brandon in Michigan. We have a bunch of super fun activities planned, including more SHOPPING!!
