The other day, someone pointed out that I complain a lot about the weather during the winter months. So, I read back on some of my blog posts and it's true!!! I'm beginning to think I no longer like being a northerner. Hmmmm.....

I don't get to wear skirts and dresses as often as I would like during the cold winter months, which is truly depressing!! So, when the weather warms up a bit and the streets are no longer covered in snow (which never lasts more than a few days), I take full advantage!

A few months ago, while visiting Brandon in the U.S., he introduced me to the Nordstrom Rack. He takes such good care of me! :) He spotted this tweed skirt and it was love at first sight. Ladies, don't you love it when you go shopping with your boyfriend or husband and he spots the most perfect outfit piece? I love it when that happens! :)

Hello dear readers! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I feel like I spent the whole weekend shoveling snow and brushing it off of my car. Ugh! Most days I love being a northerner and really appreciate the fact that I get to enjoy all four seasons, but this weekend was definitely not one of those days. On a happier note, I'm really excited to announce that I've entered a contest! Bootlegger has launched a model contest and is giving one lucky winner the chance to be in their next campaign. This is definitely a first for me, and WAY out of my comfort zone, but I'm really excited about it! You should definitely take a look and vote for your favorite entry! One of the major color trends this winter season is purple. Whether you prefer the darker, richer shades of Plum and Bordeaux or the softer shades of Lilac and Lavender, there's something out there for everyone. Personally, I love it all! :) I was absolutely thrilled when I received this Plum Double-Breasted Jacket for Christmas! It was love at first sight.

There are times when I get extremely bored with my wardrobe and I'm sure many of you can relate to this. You know those days when you stare at your closet not knowing what to wear, or not wanting to wear anything you own?When you spend half an hour trying everything on and realize the only thing you've accomplished is turning your room (or closet) upside down?! When you crave something new and all you want to do is go on a shopping spree but your budget kinda gets in the way (like for example, when your New Year's resolution is to save money)? Sometimes re-working summer staples into your winter wardrobe is a perfect way to add some spice and make an outfit feel new! :) So get creative with your styling and have some fun!

Last week we had some really mild weather which was perfect for layering, so I added a fur vest to the mix. :)

Hello dear readers. I apologize for my recent lack of posts, but, for whatever reason, my blog wouldn't let me publish any new posts! It has been extremely annoying and frustrating! Everything seems to be back in working order and I'm hoping it stays that way. I realize it's a little late to be wishing everyone happy holidays, but it's better late than never. So...I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish everyone all the best in this new year! Mum and I spent most of the holidays sick with the flu, however, we still managed to spend good quality time with family and friends, enjoy a nice Christmas Day dinner, see Les Miserables with Brandon (which was A-MA-ZING), go ice fishing (which was really fun other than losing all sensation in my fingers and toes), and ring in the new year with drinks, good food and a few good laughs (whispering laughs in my case, since I lost my voice for a few days).

I wasn't able to post any of my holiday outfits when I should have, so I've decided to share just one. I received this dress as a Christmas gift from Mum and it was love at first sight. It was perfect for our Christmas Day dinner.
