Hello dear readers! For those of us here in the north, today marks the first day of fall. The leaves are beginning to change colour, the temperatures are dropping and the days are becoming shorter. As I mentioned in my previous post, fall is my favourite season, which means I've been eagerly awaiting and preparing for weeks! I've put away my summer wardrobe, reorganized and updated, and now I'm ready for cool temperatures, cozy layers and deep/warm hues.
A classic trench coat is definitely a wardrobe staple that every woman should have. This one has been with me through many seasons. To bring out the burgundy in this bouclé skirt, I wore a burgundy sweater and kept the rest of the outfit simple with neutrals. This oversized burgundy V-neck sweater, which belonged to my father, has been a fall wardrobe favourite for many years. It's warm and cozy yet thin enough to tuck into a skirt. It's surprising what you can find in a man's closet.

This dress from the Temperance by Bootlegger 2013 Holiday Collection is by far one of my favourite dresses from my wardrobe. Anyone who knows me well knows that I get easily excited about fashion, but I was beyond thrilled when I first saw this dress. It was definitely love at first sight! If only it was appropriate to wear ostrich feathers at every occasion!
I wanted the feathers to be the main focus so I kept the rest of the outfit fairly simple. To bring out the subtle sparkles in the polka dot top, I added a sparkly belt and clutch, and sparkly shoes.
This blazer from Forever 21 has been a great wardrobe staple. The faux leather on the bottom half of the sleeve really helps in elevating a relatively plain black blazer.

If you don't already know, fall is my FAVOURITE season when it comes to fashion. Likely due to my love for jackets and blazers. They are my favourite layering piece and are ideal for transitioning between seasons. September can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to fashion. The sun can still be rather warm which gives us the illusion that summer is still here, but the cool wind reminds us that fall is just around the corner.
My love for fall is also due to the many beautiful colours that surround us, not only in fashion but in nature as well. One of the major colour trends that I'm most thrilled about for fall is cobalt blue. Especially when paired with black. This striped black and cobalt skirt has been a great summer wardrobe staple due to it's thin sheer overlay. Paired with a blazer for a bit of warmth, it has proven to be a great transitional piece for the month of September.

When thinking of fall colours, pastel hues, like blush pink, don't usually come to mind. But the soft pastel shades from the spring/summer season will be sticking around for fall and I couldn't be more thrilled. This blush pink peplum top is one of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe and is proving to be a great summer-to-fall transition piece.
I love pairing feminine with edgy, and metallic accessories are perfect for creating this desired look. Throughout summer, metallic silvers and golds were popular trends but gunmetal is the perfect metallic shade for the upcoming fall season due to it's darker hue. It's also a huge fall beauty trend. Gunmetal eye shadow and nail polish were seen all over the fall 2014 runway shows. How will you rock this colour trend this upcoming season?

Hello all! I was invited to do a guest blog post today and gladly accepted. Any opportunity to get all dressed up is an opportunity worth entertaining! My name is Shenni, and have been assisting my dear friend Chantal for the past year or so with her blog, acting as her on again, off again, photographer. Today we decided to put Chantal in the driver's seat while I stood in her place.
I had a blast enhancing my features with black, browns, and golds, and to any of you who have already seen my last "Other Side of the Camera" shoot know how much I love animal print. This over the shoulder tunic paired with a tight black pencil skirt gave my body a feminine shape while highlighting some discreet sexiness by showing a little skin up top.
The newest addition to my wardrobe has to be the star of my shoot, my black, 2 look, Steve Madden handbag. I went crazy over the gold accents, and can instantly change up my look by merely turning my bag around. Speaking of versatility, jewellery can be a great joy to manipulate when forming an outfit. This gold bracelet is actually a necklace folded three times over.
