As promised, I have a few birthday pictures to share with everyone. I had planned on purchasing a new dress for my special day but as I was looking through my closet a few weeks ago, I found this (never worn, tags still attached) dress and decided it was time to give it a night out! The dress is loosely fitted, which is perfect for a family get together and the print is really different and fun. When I look at it, I always think of pearls. :)
My family and friends really made my day extra special this year! Tania, my sister in law, surprised me with this amazing cake which she baked and decorated herself! I was super thrilled to see it covered with adorable shoes and cute bows and party dresses! I was even more thrilled to see Closet Full Of Thrills inscribed on it! Thanks Tania for making such a special cake!
On to the birthday goodies!! I was incredibly spoiled this year! I'm currently obsessed with gold so these are a perfect addition to my closet! I'm completely smitten with this black studded bag and the necklace is
unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm really looking forward to incorporating these into my outfits!
Studs and spikes are a huge trend at the moment and I've quickly become obsessed! It's a bit hard to see in this photo, but these bedazzled shoes actually have spikes on them! I cannot wait to wear these out on the town! :) I also got a much needed black envelope clutch and this dark grey hand bag which is unlike anything I have. Isn't the lace purse the cutest bank you've ever seen?
I want to thank everyone for making my birthday so special. I'm extremely lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love me, not only on my birthday but every day!
*Kiss Kiss*
I also want to give a quick shout out to all of my American readers! :)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Friday everyone! It's my birthday tomorrow so naturally I'm super excited and anxious for the weekend! This year, I thought it would be fun to have a "mini" themed birthday party. Everything from mini hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, to mini cocktails and mini party favors. This is a family event which means my little nieces and nephews will be attending, so I'm hoping they find my "mini" theme as fun as I do.
I'm definitely glad all of the planning and shopping is finally done. It's been a really hectic few days! My mind has been so focused on this party that the other day, I actually turned in the wrong direction onto a one way street and drove right into on coming traffic. . . while on my way to renew my driver's license. Ok, not my finest moment. Thankfully Mum and I made it out alive and then we had ourselves a really good laugh. The only reason I share this story with you now is because
none of you can actually see me blush from embarrassment.
I really love tweed paired with leather and lucky for me it's a huge trend at the moment.
I only had time to photograph one outfit this week. There are two new additions to my closet that I want to share with all of you. This gorgeous tweed cutaway jacket . . .
. . . and this oh-so-pretty necklace.

Ok, so I realize it's been two weeks since my last post (oops) and I truly apologize for the lack of outfit pics. Everyone is probably wondering where I disappeared to and I wish I had a bunch of really great excuses, but the truth is I've been sulking and pouting and wallowing in loneliness. Being abandoned by Mum and having to be away from Brandon is definitely not a good mix! Ok, maybe I'm a bit of a suck and a tad bit of a drama queen. Ha! So I've spent the past two weeks eating way too much junk food while watching the entire first season of Hart Of Dixie (which is the greatest show ever) and shopping online in the hopes of bringing a smile to my face. Since my photographer (Mum) wasn't around, I even attempted to take my own pictures which ended up being a disaster and did nothing to improve my mood. Thankfully Mum is back, woohoo, and everything will be back to normal.
One thing that managed to (temporarily) brighten my mood last week is the new OPI SKYFALL collection. These colors are perfect for the fall/winter season and I'm really looking forward to owning a few of them! Are you seductive or dangerous. . .or both?
I'm super thrilled about this 18K gold top coat! How fun is that?? REAL 18K gold!! :)
As I was scrolling through the OPI website I also came across this super fun "Bond Manicure" how-to. A new way to wear nail polish! The Bond Girl way! I'm definitely going to give this one a try. :)
Monday is here. . . Ugh! WHY?? I was having such a relaxing time, filled with laughter, and hugs, and good food and...really good wine! :) Why did it have to end?? To make matters worse, Mum decided to stay and visit with my sister for the rest of the week while I'm over here, alone, missing out on all the fun. I'm super jealous! Life just ain't fair!
Here are a few pictures from the weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we spent quite a bit of time outdoors. I knew this was going to be a very chill weekend (which is exactly what I needed after my recent trip with Mum) so I made sure to pack comfortable outfits. This is probably as casual and comfy as it gets for me. Ha! :)
We also took the opportunity to take some nice family photos. :)

This poncho is a recent purchase from Artizan. It is extremely comfortable. . . yet stylish. Perfect for the fall season and perfect for someone like me!

I woke up this morning wishing it wasn't Monday. Monday means back at home, back to work, and away from Brandon. Oh and away from all those wonderful shopping malls! I went to five different malls during my trip and went way over my budget! I must say my fall/winter wardrobe is looking pretty good though. Ha! :)
The floral trend is back for another season and I'm super thrilled. Unlike the flirty and feminine prints that were around during the summer, this season's floral prints are darker and edgier. The first time my dear friend Angel saw me with these pants on she said "Oh I've seen those in magazines but I never thought I'd ever see someone actually wear them". She's been calling me "flower ass" ever since. Ha!
