The long knit vest is a big trend at the moment. It's a great transitional piece for fall. When it comes to choosing knits, I usually stay away from anything heavy to avoid adding bulk which is why I was so thrilled when I spotted this fuzzy mossy vest from Ricki's. It is absolute perfection. It's thin and flattering yet still warm and cozy. My only complaint is the lack of colour options.
I definitely would have purchased more than one colour!
I really love mixing textures so I paired the vest with this gold sequin striped top from J. Crew. I love how the gold sequins add a bit of interest to an otherwise plain striped top. It was on my wishlist about a month ago and I was so thrilled when Brandon surprised me with it during my last visit in Michigan. :)
I purchased these faux suede boots about a year ago but they never made it onto the blog until now because unfortunately, the fall season doesn't last very long over here in Ontario. I've been trying to wear them as much as I can before the snow comes!

Soft peach is one of my favourite colours for spring and summer. There's something so pretty and feminine about it. When I saw this jewelled lace top at Suzy Shier I was thrilled and knew I had to take it home with me. I was even more thrilled when I saw the $14.95 sale sticker! Personally I don't think I have the right body for boxy shirts and crop tops but this top was just too pretty to pass up. As a layering piece, I knew I could make it work.
I really wanted to keep this outfit soft but sometimes neutrals can be a little boring, especially during the summer months, so I painted my nails bright purple for a fun pop of colour!

White and summer go together like popcorn and butter, milk and cookies, or coffee and cream, mmmm . . . I think I might be a little hungry. Anyway, as I was saying, white is definitely a summer staple and this a-line skirt from Ricki's is the perfect summer skirt (currently on sale). It can easily be dressed up or down, the fabric is light and breezy, and the floral organza overlay adds just the right dose of sweet and feminine. I was so thrilled when the very nice people over at Ricki's sent this over to me. I've worn this skirt many times over the summer including an outdoor birthday party and a casual afternoon stroll along the waterfront.

At the beginning of the new year, I decided my room needed a makeover. I was living in clutter and as the saying goes: cluttered room, cluttered mind. My bedroom closet was packed with articles of clothing that I no longer wore (which I donated and/or handed down to family), I had several jewelry stands and boxes scattered throughout my room, and shoes scattered throughout the house. Due to lack of space, my fashion obsession not only took over my bedroom but the two spare bedroom closets as well. I desperately needed a plan and the search for the perfect organizing solution began.
My bedroom is relatively small, but it's my favourite room in the house because it contains all the pretty little things that bring a smile to my face. The decor has been black and white for several years and I have no intention of changing it any time soon. It's one of my favourite combinations. It's so easy to work with. You can switch things up a little just by adding a bit of colour. Due to my recent obsession with gold, I added a few gold accents and updated my wall art to make the room feel new again.
I purchased these lamps at Walmart and added self adhesive jewels from Dollorama onto the lamp shades to match my decorative pillow and curtain valance.
The major challenge was my shoe collection. Changing the dimensions of my room or adding a walk in closet was not an option so I had to work with what I had, which was an empty wall opposite of my bed. I also didn't want anything permanent (I plan on getting married and leaving the nest...someday) so storage I could take with me was a must. After months of research, I settled on ClosetMaid. I combined and stacked the Closetmaid Cube Organizers in various sizes for my shoes and purchased the Closetmaid drawer unit for my jewelry and storage bins. These cube organizers are great. I currently have one pair of shoes per cube but depending on the shoe, I can easily fit two pair.
I updated this collage frame by adding a gold trim around each photo. I used metallic gold markers which I purchased at Dollorama.
That handsome fellow on the left is my father at the age of sixteen. :)
My sparkly shoe fund doubles as a bookend.
The custom jewelry trays were a very tedious and lengthy DIY project but definitely worth the effort. I used foam board, hot glue, shelf liners from Dollorama to line the bottom of the drawers and gold glitter tape from Michaels. This project required hours of measuring and cutting. The foam board dividers come right out if ever I want to change the drawer liner.
I received this watch case from my brother as a Christmas gift last year. It's perfection! I haven't thanked him enough! I no longer have to worry about my watches getting scratched or dusty and they look so much better neatly displayed in a case.
I love having all of my statement necklaces on display next to my clothes. It's much more accessible and makes accessorizing super easy. I used Command Adhesive Hooks to hang the necklaces. I definitely recommend these hooks!
That concludes my bedroom/ dressing room tour.

I've attended two weddings this summer and a third one coming at the end of August. I love weddings! Not only do I get to witness such an important moment in someone's life and celebrate with family and loved ones; I have an excuse to shop for dresses, shop for shoes, shop for accessories, and look fancy for a day. My favourite kind of event!
I had a specific look in mind which, at times, can make shopping a little difficult. It took two months of consistent shopping online and in stores to find this beautiful ASOS dress but, once I had my heart set, I had to have it. It wasn't easy though. When the order came, the dress was a little too snug and the cutouts were digging into my "baby fat" (as my sister would call it). Mum said it wasn't flattering on me and at first I was very disappointed but . . . with a week left before the wedding, I decided not to listen to her, ordered the dress in two larger sizes and everything worked out!
I really wanted all of the focus to be on the dress so I kept my manicure simple: nude nails with a subtle gold glitter top coat. To bring out the gold bar at the waist, I wore matching gold sandals and added a touch of sparkle with the clutch.
