Monday is here. . . Ugh! WHY?? I was having such a relaxing time, filled with laughter, and hugs, and good food and...really good wine! :) Why did it have to end?? To make matters worse, Mum decided to stay and visit with my sister for the rest of the week while I'm over here, alone, missing out on all the fun. I'm super jealous! Life just ain't fair!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we spent quite a bit of time outdoors. I knew this was going to be a very chill weekend (which is exactly what I needed after my recent trip with Mum) so I made sure to pack comfortable outfits. This is probably as casual and comfy as it gets for me. Ha! :)

We also took the opportunity to take some nice family photos. :)

This poncho is a recent purchase from Artizan. It is extremely comfortable. . . yet stylish. Perfect for the fall season and perfect for someone like me!

Hello everyone! Just a quick post before bedtime. I have an exciting announcement to make! Today is Closet Full Of Thrills' first anniversary!! When I first started this blog, I really didn't know what to expect. I definitely didn't expect it to be this much work! Ha! I also didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I do. :) Blogging has led me to so many great blogs, and such wonderful people. There's so much inspiration out there and I'm so happy to be a part of it all! I want to take a minute to thank everyone for their kind comments, for the sweet words of encouragement and for all the (much appreciated) support! Looking forward to sharing more outfits and more adventures with Mum. :)

Mum and I are driving up north in the morning to visit with my sister for the weekend. Super excited for some good quality family time! I hope everyone has a super great weekend!

The countdown to my birthday has officially begun! In exactly one month I will be wearing a party dress, celebrating with family and friends, hopefully eating all of my favorite foods and birthday cake! :) Oh and watching the final Twilight movie. I feel like I've been waiting forever for the grand finale. I'm super excited! I'm also excited to start looking for the perfect birthday outfit.

During my time in Oakville last week, I was able to take advantage of the beautiful scenery in my sister's backyard and took a few outfit pictures. This is the outfit I wore for (Canadian) Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's. My niece Veronica and I wondered off outside while everyone was busy cooking in the kitchen. I disappear often, especially during the preparation of big family meals and during kitchen clean up time as well. Ha! :) What can I say? I'm a princess. One day, when I'm a wife and a mother, I will probably wish I had helped out all of those years, because by then I'm sure it will be their turn to "disappear" or "wonder off".

This tweed skirt has quickly become a wardrobe favorite. It has been super versatile and super easy to remix. Looking forward to more mixing and matching. :)

I woke up this morning wishing it wasn't Monday. Monday means back at home, back to work, and away from Brandon. Oh and away from all those wonderful shopping malls! I went to five different malls during my trip and went way over my budget! I must say my fall/winter wardrobe is looking pretty good though. Ha! :)

The floral trend is back for another season and I'm super thrilled. Unlike the flirty and feminine prints that were around during the summer, this season's floral prints are darker and edgier. The first time my dear friend Angel saw me with these pants on she said "Oh I've seen those in magazines but I never thought I'd ever see someone actually wear them". She's been calling me "flower ass" ever since. Ha!

Hello dear readers! I thought I would share a few of the items that left the mall with me yesterday. Normally when I travel, I try to shop in stores that aren't available in my city, but there was a "buy one, get one 50% off" sale at Suzy Shier that I just couldn't pass up!

My recent tweed purchase, which I wore in the previous post, turned out to be such a great buy, so I grabbed another! I'm really loving this dark green color that seems to be everywhere this season.

Houndstooth is another trend that has been popping up everywhere. This pattern has been a classic trend over and over again, but to be honest, it never really appealed to me until now. I'm looking forward to mixing it into my wardrobe.

I also made sure to stop in at the Bulk Barn to stock up on some of my favorite candy. I sure did spend 16$ on candy! Please don't judge me. Ha!

My time in Oakville has come to an end. I'm extremely sad to be leaving but my trip doesn't stop here. I'm bringing Mum over to my aunt's in London Ontario for the rest of the week, while I visit with Brandon in Michigan. We have a bunch of super fun activities planned, including more SHOPPING!!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm still visiting with family in Oakville and having a super great time. Today is a day of recovery from all that yummy Thanksgiving food I ate. Mmmm turkey!! Tomorrow we have a whole day of shopping planned and I'm super excited. I've been waiting months for this day! As I've mentioned before, the shopping in my city is a tad bit pitiful and although I'm super thankful for the abundance of online retailers, being able to actually try things on is definitely nice for a change!

Now for some fashion talk. Tweed is once again a huge trend this fall/winter season and I couldn't be any more thrilled. I recently purchased a tweed skirt from Suzy Shier and let me tell you. . . I'm in love!!! So far it has been super versatile which is exactly what my wardrobe was missing this season! Fur is back for another season as well. :)

It's Friday, which means Thanksgiving weekend is finally here!!! Tomorrow morning Mum and I will be driving to Oakville to spend the long weekend with family. I've been counting down the days for months, getting more and more excited every day! But as I sit here thinking of the 8 hour long car ride that awaits me. . . I'm no longer feeling so excited. Ugh!Why my sister decided to move so far away, I will never quite understand. But being able to ~~shop til' I drop~~ spend time with my lovely sister is always well worth it of course. Ha!

Thanksgiving only means one thing to me. . . FOOD! Ok, I know it's supposed to be about giving thanks. . . and I will definitely be thankful this weekend. . .for all of the yummy food! :)

Oh how I love autumn. Every year around this time, the trees in my front yard create such a beautiful array of colors. One tree in particular creates a nice warm glow when the sun shines through the orange and yellow leaves. It was the most perfect background for today's outfit.

Mustard yellow is one of my top favorite colors for fall. It never used to appeal to me until last year. When paired with browns, greys or burgundy (worn here), I think it's absolutely beautiful. Definitely an autumn wardrobe must have! For those who are new to this color or undecided, I definitely suggest giving it a try. Perhaps something small to start off with, like a scarf or belt (worn here). :)

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I thought I would start the month of October with a Wants & Wishes post. It's been a while. . . Oops!

I'm crazy obsessed with a million things from H&M at the moment. Unfortunately the nearest store is miles and miles away and online shopping isn't available. This is truly depressing! Mum and I are going down south for Thanksgiving (which thankfully is fast approaching) to spend time with family and we've made sure to squeeze in some shopping time! Until then, here's my wish list. Hopefully some of these items will find their way into my closet. . . SOON! :)
